Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation
Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation combines two programs into a natural pairing of assisting patients who have had a heart attack or who struggle with short- or long-term breathing disorders.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II is for people who have suffered a heart attack. It is a medically monitored program that combines exercise with guidance on modifying risk factors.
In Phase II, Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist Ashley Krzoska begins working with patients one to four weeks after hospitalization for a heart attack, angioplasty or stenting.
Ashley monitors patients' heart rhythm and rate; blood pressure; and weight, while explaining the importance of changes in lifestyle choices.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a treatment program for people with chronic respiratory diseases.
Respiratory Therapist Steve Ellison designs programs that offer immediate strategies to help people breathe better. He also helps people understand their condition and lifestyle changes they can make to improve their lives.
Together, Steve and Ashley care for patients in a shared Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation program on Tri-County Memorial's first floor.
