Emergency Department

Life brings emergencies large and small, and Tri-County Memorial is ready when it happens.

Our team of physicians; physician assistants; nurse practitioners; nurses; technicians; and EMTs are all highly trained and prepared to care for you in a time of crisis.

Tri-County Memorial also has made a commitment to our communities by investing in state-of-the-art technology and equipment.

Tri-County Memorial works closely with Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center to create a nearly seamless link between Trempealeau County and La Crosse.

Included in this is Priority One - a set of protocols when treating heart-attack patients.

When a heart-attack patient arrives at Tri-County, our medical staff provide crucial immediate care. If needed, they prepare the patient for a MedLink Air transport to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

Within 90 minutes, the patient is in surgery in La Crosse, receiving life-saving coronary artery balloon angioplasty.

Time is everything in an emergency, and that kind of skill and coordination could save your, or a loved one's, life.

Take heart that in a time of crisis, when so much is happening so fast, you have Tri-County Memorial and Gundersen Lutheran so close and so ready.

Emergency Care vs. Urgent Care

Tri-County Memorial's Emergency Department offers both emergency care and urgent care. We've developed a simple booklet that explains how we make decisions when you arrive.

Please click here for the booklet. It will open in a new window. You will need Adobe Acrobat on your computer to use the file. You can dowload the free Acrobat reader here.
